I picked up a few pieces from the same line and they look good grouped together on the table. This one runs large, so it handles a sushi spread or a big stir-fry without crowding. I've always liked plates with a wood-grain look and this scratches that itch.
The size is right and it's prettier in person than in the listing photos. What I like most is the color. Not too bright, not too dark, just a muted tone that goes with whatever I'm serving.
It has a Japanese-inspired look that changes the feel of the table more than I expected. The design is clean and the color is refined without being showy. I use it for side dishes most nights, and it feels like solid value for how often it gets used.
The size is exactly right for laying out a whole fish, which is harder to find than you'd think. Beyond that, it's just a good looking platter. The leaf pattern gives it a green, overgrown feel that makes dinner more interesting. I'm being careful with it because I'd hate to scratch the surface.
It works as an accent on the table, but the real selling point is the shape. It's longer than I pictured, so I can line up several side dishes on one platter or use it for something that wouldn't fit a round plate. More plating options than I expected from one piece.
