A 2-piece ceramic pasta bowl set made in Japan, fired twice at 1,300 C so the surface is hard while the bowl stays light in the hand. The glaze is a snow-crystal finish, applied at an even thickness and brought up under careful temperature control, leaving a soft shimmer across the white surface. At 8.1" across with gently sloped sides, it holds about 23.7 fl oz, right for pasta, salad, fried rice, and one-bowl meals. The bowls stack neatly for storage. Microwave and dishwasher safe, though not oven safe.

Note: Measurements may vary by about 5 percent depending on how they are taken and on the production method. The outline is intentionally slightly irregular by design, and the crystalline glaze distributes unevenly by nature. Glaze pooling and flow marks from drying, small bubbles in the clay from firing, and black or white specks from the glaze and clay composition are all natural to the technique and are not defects.

The clean, tidy design makes food look much more appetizing. The depth is right, so it works for pasta and also for soupy dishes or salad. Versatile across a lot of menus.
I bought it thinking it was a pasta plate and it is quite small. Still, the price is great and it doesn't look cheap. It holds about one portion of rice. I wish they made this design in a larger size.
The dish looks high-end enough that anything on it looks pretty impressive. The only shame is that it isn't very large, so you can't use it as a main plate.
I love the shape of the dish itself. Above all, it's light and dishwasher safe, which are the biggest pluses. I reach for it every single day lately.
It feels smaller than I expected, but it's pretty and light, so holding it with food in it doesn't strain my wrist. I think it comfortably holds up to one and a half servings of pasta.
