  • Wash with a mild neutral detergent, then rinse thoroughly under running water.
  • Use a soft sponge when hand washing.
  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers and harsh cleaners.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes, which can cause cracking.
  • Stop using any piece that develops a crack or chip.
  • Handle with care, as broken pieces can cause injury.

Note: Specks, small bumps, and pinholes come from iron in the clay reacting during firing. Pieces may sit very slightly unevenly and vary marginally in size, within about 1 percent. Tong marks left from glazing and an unglazed foot ring with slight discoloration are natural to the process. Because of the reactive glaze, color depth varies from piece to piece, and glaze thickness affects how sharply the surface relief reads. None of these are defects.
