- Before first use, remove the polishing residue left from manufacturing.
- To do this, wipe the inside and outside with a paper towel lightly coated in cooking oil.
- Then wash with a soft sponge using equal parts vinegar and baking soda.
- Finish by washing in a mix of equal parts vinegar, hot water, and mild detergent.
- Then dry completely before use or storage.
- Hand wash recommended for regular cleaning.
- Wipe with a soft sponge and mild detergent.
- Dry thoroughly after washing to help prevent water spots.
- Avoid abrasive scrubbers, steel wool, or harsh cleaners.
- Do not leave water, salt, oil, or acidic residue on the surface for long periods.
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated area when not in use.
Note: Minor dents, weld marks, or surface scratches from the manufacturing process are normal for stainless steel and are not defects. Measurements may vary by about 1 to 2 cm depending on measuring method.

The stainless has a slightly aged, vintage texture rather than a bright mirror shine, and the oval shape softens it. I use mine to corral coffee bits and small odds and ends. Even just doing that makes the corner look deliberate instead of cluttered.
This is the right plate for little baked things. Financiers and madeleines especially. The oval shape gives them that simple bakery-counter look without any styling effort. I'd happily own a few more.
I got this as a decorative piece and have no regrets. The oval is what makes it, softer than a rectangular tray. It lives on my open shelf and I still catch myself looking at it.
