Care Instructions

  • Dishwasher safe, though repeated dishwasher use or steel wool can wear down the printed design.
  • Microwave safe for up to three minutes at a time.
  • Do not use in an oven.
  • Do not microwave or heat an empty piece.
  • Rinse with water before first use.
  • Wash with mild detergent and a soft sponge.
  • Avoid abrasive scrubbers and metal brushes.
  • Wash soon after eating, since chili powder and strongly colored foods can stain the glaze.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes, and let hot pieces cool gradually.
  • Handle with care, since an impact can crack or break ceramic later even if it looks fine at first.
  • Dry thoroughly before storing.

Note: Bowl) The base is left unglazed so the piece does not stick to the kiln during firing. This is normal and harmless. There is a small raised bump in the center inside the bowl, which is part of the design. Air bubble marks, slight surface waviness, faint or uneven paint, small pinholes, nicks, an edge that is not perfectly round, and light color transfer all occur during production and ship as normal product. Avoid soaking the piece for long periods, since water can seep into any pinholes. Color may look slightly different on your screen.

Spoon) The edge is not perfectly round, and air bubble marks from production are visible. Parts of the surface are not perfectly smooth and the paint can be uneven. The handle is intentionally left partly unpainted as a design detail. Light color transfer appears in some areas.

General) Unevenness, fine glaze cracks, scratches, and color transfer on the sides and base are all but unavoidable in ceramic production, and the level of finish differs from piece to piece even within the same product. None of this affects use. These pieces ship as normal product and are not grounds for return.
