This gives the room a more elevated look than I expected, and it feels nicely cushioned underfoot. I accidentally spilled some egg on it and panicked that it would leave a yellow stain, but it wiped right off with a cleaning wipe. Very happy with it.
I bought this to coordinate with my living room rug, but it looks great on its own too. It doesn't collect much dust, feels comfortable under bare feet, and stays put. My robot vacuum rolls right over it without any trouble.
I have hardwood floors, and while PVC mats are easy to maintain, I don't love that they trap moisture underneath. I went with this sisal-look mat instead and really love the design. It has enough weight to stay put, absorbs water well, and doesn't slide around. There was a slight smell when I first opened it, but I let it air out in the sun for a couple of days and it went away.
I used this for two years in my old place and brought it along to our new home because I still liked it so much. It works with just about any space, doesn't feel boring over time, and the material hasn't shed much at all. I think it's going to last a long time.
This is a great rug year-round, but I think it looks especially nice in fall and winter when you want the room to feel a little warmer. I have a lot of patterned fabrics in my room, so I wanted something understated but not plain, and this hit the mark. It works beautifully with walnut furniture and a calm, cozy style.
